Who I Am
Focused on ecological understanding
I’m an Ecologist, happily married and dad of two lovely kids. I was born in Écija (Seville, Spain), the frying pan of Andalusian, where temperatures often rise above 40 oC over the long dry summers so I soon started being curious about the ability of plants to cope with such extremes.

I hold a Forest Engineering Degree (2005) and PhD in Bioscience from the University of Córdoba, Spain (2011). I was later Postdoc in the Science Faculty of the University of Granada (2011-2013) and at the Max-Planck Institute for biogeochemistry in Jena, Germany (2014-2018). In 2019, I moved to Sydney (Australia) to join Ian Wright lab at Macquarie University (2019-2022) where I keep doing research in plant functional ecology and modelling. I invite you to take a look at my research work. Feel free to get in touch with me to say hi or for more information about my work.
